Yacht Charter Greece Lavrion Base Information
Lavrion Port is where PureSailing yacht charter base is situated approximately 25 Km South of the Athens International airport “El. Venizelos” in Spata area. Being less than 25 minutes drive away from the airport and only 2.5 hours sailing from Kea Island in the Cyclades, Lavrion attracts our guests who have as their destination Cyclades islands.
Facilities
Water and electricity on the pier are delivered free of charge. Fuel is delivered at the pier by a fuel truck. Within the Port area there are many cafes offering drinks and a range of hot and cold sandwiches. In the nearby area there is a large variety of restaurants.Neither showers nor toilets (public WC) are available in Lavrion Lavrion is well known for its numerous fish tavernas!
Hazards
As you approach the harbour there is no hazard, there is sufficient depth of water. Please note that in the area there is sometimes in high volume of traffic with many trawlers plying their trade in the area. Sailing North of Makronissos keep at least 1.5 Miles off the coast of the islet to avoid the Tripiti reef. On you way to Kea island from the south of the islet, keep at least 1.5 mile away from the South cape of Makronissos (non-inhabited) island.
Meeting point
When returning, go stern-to or bows-to. Mooring lines are available on the North side of the quay, though you should drop your anchor to moor to the South side of the wide dock.
Provisioning
There are a few supermarkets in Lavrion town. One or two of them picks people up from the marina and takes them to the store for provisioning and thereafter delivers all provisions to the quay.
