Sailing Areas
Athens and Saronic
Skiathos and Sporades
Athens, the capital, is built in the Attica Basin surrounded by a series of hills. Our base, in the Alimos Marina, is an ideal spot to begin sailing in the region. Along with magnificent coastal swimming and regional beaches, you can visit the Acropolis, with the Parthenon. Take a stroll through the National Gardens of Athens or spend a day in the National Archaeological Museum. Find glorious shopping in the afternoons and fine dining and nightlife in the evenings. Come visit the birthplace Democracy. The friendly people are just the beginning.
The Saronic and the Peloponnese area is a pleasant place to sail with a wide variety of landscapes, small distances between islands, sandy or pebbled beaches and both busy and secluded ports and anchorages.
In all the bigger islands in the region ( Aegina, Aghistri, Poros, Hydra and Spetses) and in other known mainland ports (Epidavros, Methana, Ermioni, Porto-Heli, Nafplio and Monemvassia) there is much to explore and apart from the charming crowded capitals there are equally beautiful tranquil corners one can explore.
Sheltered anchorages and safe waters for beginners and sailors with a reasonable amount of experience are found in the waters of the vicinity. In other words Ideal family cruising.
The strong summer northerlies do not usually affect the Saronic Gulf and the Peloponese east coast. The prevailing winds blow from North to North East, (usually about force 3-4 and maybe a little stronger in July and August).
You can start your sailing cruise from our charter base in Athens Kalamaki Marina at pier 7.
